Nearly 90 movie viewers turned out for the world premiere of Trevor Velin’s film, “Haulin’ Ass” Sunday at the Jones Theater in Westcliffe.
I was overwhelmed by the turnout. It was a super audience and I’m thankful to all who turned out to support this film premiere, as well as those who came to the trail outing earlier in the day.
Prior to the screening, nine of us with burros and horses made a 6.5-mile loop from Hermit Road to Gibson Trailhead, down the Rainbow Trail to Hermit Pass and back to the vehicles. I was lucky to do some running, hiking and riding. We all enjoyed the spectacular fall scenery and weather.
My compliments to Trevor, who really hit a home run with this movie. Everyone I’ve talked to enjoyed the documentary and I’m still hearing positive things about it around town.
