Oh, my. As the dutiful "horse mom" for my youngest daughter for the past 8 years and rider myself, it would have been unbearable for me to drive home from such a place with an empty trailer. But then, I don't live out west. I live in Virginia. To my knowledge, there are no wolf sanctuarie

As my fortunes have changed in the past 3 years, I have found that owning and boarding two horses was not financially feasible, despite the fact that these horses were more like 1000 lb. pets than livestock.

My daughter couldn't compete her 20 year old Appendix anymore and I hardly had time to ride my Quarter Horse so we sold them. Noah actually went to Texas and my horse now lives in Craig County (about 20 miles from here). But the drive home with that empty trailer was hard. I could barely see the windy National Forest road through my tears.

It strikes an interesting contrast about different lifestyles and cultures we have even in one country.

I'm enjoying your blog.
